Replacing original vocalist Johnny Moore, Ray excelled in his role as the group’s lead singer, instantly setting about re-recording many of The Drifters’ best-known hits and becoming an instantly recognisable voice for the group.

Ray enjoyed an extensive career at the forefront of American Soul, performing alongside the likes of Joe Blunt, Ben E. King, Bill Fredericks, and Clyde Brown. As he spread his wings as a solo performer, Ray quickly acquired a reputation as one of the leading names in Soul music. His incredible show mixes popular Soul classics with many of The Drifters’ best-loved hits, including Saturday Night At The Movies, Save The Last Dance For Me, There Goes My Baby, Come On Over To My Place, Up On The Roof, and Under The Boardwalk.

An extravaganza of Soul and Motown excellence, Ray’s performance is one of the most exciting shows in the Soul genre today. After carving out a successful solo career, Ray released his first solo album in 2013. The release, Did You Ever, represented a thrilling and romantic interpretation of the Soul sound. Following the album’s popularity, Ray released several other notable albums, including Did You Ever Know, A Testament To My Years As Lead Singer Of The Drifters, and The Spirit Of Christmas.
