Thoresby Hall has been undergoing a refurbishment to 168 modern guest rooms, with bedroom and bathroom enhancements including rainforest showers, backlit mirrors, 50” state of the art televisions, mini bar chillers, new carpets, decoration throughout and soft furnishings. Sherwood Forest is most famous for The Major Oak tree, the legendary home of Robin Hood that produces 150,000 acorns every year, but it’s also Europe’s largest collection of ancient oaks and features woodland walking routes for all fitness levels.

Opening times are from 10 am until 5 pm (Nov-Feb from 10am until 4.30 pm). 

Thoresby Park and Courtyard

2 min walk from Thoresby Hall, NG22 9EP

A courtyard featuring boutique jewellery and craft shops, plus over 1,000 acres of picturesque English countryside less than a two-minute walk from the hotel – not that we’re boasting. 

Opening times are every day from 9 am until 5 pm. 

Nottingham Arboretum

40 min drive from Thoresby Hall, NG7 4HF

Opened in 1852, Nottingham’s oldest park is the immaculately maintained home of over 800 trees, with peaceful walking trails just a stone’s throw from the bustling city centre. It takes just over an hour to circle the mostly flat park, with just a couple of inclines in places. 

Opening times are every day from 10 am until 4.30 pm.

  • Exit at roundabout signposted A614 Nottingham, Leicester. Travel approx 4 miles at the next roundabout and take the exit to the right signposted Thoresby Hall Hotel.
  • The entrance to the hotel is approximately 1 mile on the left.

From M1 North:

  • Exit at Junction 30, Follow the A619 to Worksop, and then take the A57 to the A1.
  • At the A1 leave at roundabout signposted A614 Nottingham, Leicester.
  • Travel approximately 4 miles at the next roundabout and take the exit to the right signposted Thoresby Hall Hotel.
  • The entrance to the hotel is approximately 1 mile on the left.

From M1 South:

  • Exit at Junction 28 and follow the A38 – Mansfield. Continue straight through 7 sets of traffic lights and at the 8th set turn right – signposted A617 Newark.
  • Continue through 2 sets of lights and straight over 3 roundabouts. At the 4th roundabout take the turning left signposted A614 – Doncaster.
  • Continue straight over the 1st roundabout and at the 2nd take the turning left signposted Thoresby Hall Hotel.
  • The entrance to the hotel is approximately 1 mile on the left.

Ready for a whole new world of flavour?

Discover a colourful new deli counter featuring beetroot hummus, smoked trout and marinated vegetables to name just a few. Starters and desserts have been upgraded too and fun is most definitely on the menu - from bloody mary crumpets to tea and biscuit pudding. And if you're looking for something extra special, every night you'll find something new on the chef's specials menu, giving you even more to choose from.
