Lisa Snowden, Chief Joy Officer at Warner Hotels, invites you to check-in at The Runnymede on Thames
Are you secretly counting down the days until your next getaway? You’re not alone – nearly half of us crave an escape from the daily routine. That’s why we’re bringing even more joy to your short breaks with a little help from our newly appointed Chief Joy Officer – Lisa Snowdon.

"There’s nothing quite like the experience of a short break – it’s the perfect way to reset and recharge.”

- Lisa Snowdon, Chief Joy Officer at Warner Hotels
Lisa, the much-loved TV and radio presenter, has joined us at our newest riverside retreat, The Runnymede on Thames in Windsor, to show that a short break is about so much more than just a hotel stay. As CJO, Lisa surprised guests as they checked-in, then enjoyed indulgent dining, relaxed in the spa, and even took part in a cocktail-making masterclass – proving that every moment of a short break can be filled with joy.

Why joyful escapes matter

A recent study found that 46% of Brits are eagerly awaiting their next break, with many looking for ways to escape routine and bring more happiness into their lives. The poll of 2,000 short-break lovers revealed that:

✔ The average person enjoys three short breaks per year
89% say a getaway is about the full experience—not just the hotel
✔ Half of holiday makers love exploring new places
49% crave delicious food & drink
41% simply want more quality time with loved ones

Lisa Snowdon summed it up perfectly:
“There’s nothing quite like the experience of a short break – it’s the perfect way to reset and recharge.
